Simon

Simon

Simon started out with a twin siamese. He is the offspring of Little Big Mama. I discovered LBM in August 2021 licking the campus grass for water after the sprinklers were turned off. I followed her back to the northern enclosure of Parking Lot #6 and discovered her litter was very skinny, malnourished, and needing food. This is when I started caretaking the Cypress Campus Cats. Here is Simon and his brother after I fed them for a while and they returned to vibrant health. His brother was disappeared one day but I didn't record the date.

Simon after suffering blunt force trauma injury to his neck and spine.

As you can see, Simon's head is turned off to the side. He presented himself with this wound on January 18, 2023. He was unstable and had difficulty walking after this injury. He eventually suffered another injustice and was attacked again which made him even more afraid. He crawled off behind the storage containers where he was retrieved and sent to Orange County Animal care on January 31, 2023 where they euthanized him to put him out of his misery. Simon did not deserve this.

Simon and Bud

Simon, during better days, enjoyed the Cypress Campus nature area on the north side of the new science building and liked to hang out with Bud, the tuxedo cat. Sometimes after feeding I would walk over to enjoy this area and they would make their way over to enjoy this peaceful area as well. We would sit in silence and enjoy the hummingbirds , butterflies, and other birds that are attracted to the area.
