DR. SCOTT THAYER, PRESIDENT OF CYPRESS COLLEGE

Dr. Scott Thayer is now the President of Cypress College. 

Meet the new boss. Same as the old boss, but worse.

Dr. Thayer's policies so far are the same as Stephen Schoonmaker's policies except that now he has decided to starve the community cats to death by not allowing them food and water.

I personally met with Dr. Thayer on July 25, 2024. He said he would look into my concerns about employees harassing and killing campus cats. A month later kittens are still disappearing and the inhumane treatment of cats by destroying their water dishes on exceedingly hot days continues, in fact, it has gotten worse and employee violence has escalated from violence against cats to violence against female students who are trying to help the cats.

On November 26, 2024 employees in the maintenance department violently attacked three female students and an alumnus with rocks, and a few days later verbally assaulted another female student by yelling HEY MOTHERFUCKER! at her in Parking Lot 6, Dr. Thayer has started the most openly inhumane treatment of cats on campus to date. Dr. Thayer has criminalized the feeding of cats and is trying to STARVE THE COMMUNITY CATS TO DEATH by making it illegal to care for the community cats with simple acts of kindness of providing food and water.

Dr. Thayer has been made aware of the inhumanity of his employees and their overt animal cruelty to the campus cats. He has been informed of the maintenance department employees long term violence and verbal threats against me and students. Instead of stopping the employee violence against students and cats he has decided to try to cover up the fact this violence occurred by having "Cypress Safety" refuse to accept video evidence of the rock attack on November 26, 2024. Cypress Police Department took one look at the video evidence and immediately opened an investigation, which is ongoing at this point. 

Dr. Thayer said he was going to have "meetings" to look into the mistreatment of campus cats but his "meetings" appears to be doing absolutely nothing at all to stop the cruelty to the Cypress Community cats committed by Tim Noriega and the maintenance department. Seriously, an email could have stopped this! All he had to do is send an email to the maintenance department and tell them there is now a cease and desist order in place from the President's office.

DO NOT HARM ANY CATS. DO NOT DESTROY ANY WATER DISHES PLACED FOR THE CATS AND KITTENS! DO NOT ATTACK ANY STUDENTS WITH ROCKS OR VERBAL ASSAULTS. ANYBODY VIOLATING THIS ORDER WILL BE FIRED.

How hard could this be? Feel free to use my example, Dr. Thayer.

Instead, Dr. Thayer is now trying to starve the cats to death by not allowing them to be fed. 

Cypress College needs leadership that understands the only way to humanely deal with cat colonies is to implement a Spay/Neuter/Release program. I have been begging the campus to start a TNR program for three years and to stop the employee violence against community cats. Dr. Thayer has doubled down in campus cruelty towards cats by trying to starve them to death. This is unacceptable.

Cypress College needs leadership that doesn't allow employees to violently attack students, verbally harass students and Dr. Thayer isn't up to the task.
